About Us

We believe that most counselors didn't enter the field for fortune, fame, or glory, but instead because they have a true dedication to helping others. As helping professionals, most of us feel a sense of responsibility, duty, and commitment to providing each of our clients with an excellent standard of care. 

Like many of you, we consider ourselves lifelong learners, always striving to expand our knowledge and improve our skills, both personally and professionally. We hope Therapy Cred grows to become a community of clinicians dedicated to lifelong learners, including some who will eventually go on to become trainers. 

Therapy Cred's mission is to 'raise the bar' for online trainings by making them interesting, engaging, and interactive in nature. Our trainings involve interactive discussions, videos, role plays, and clinical interventions and case studies you can use with your clients. Many also include free worksheets and resources specifically designed to help you apply the skills and knowledge you've learned in sessions with clients.

Therapy Cred is a division of Therapeutics Inc, the same company that therapists have entrusted for years for clinical supervision, trainings, consultation and content writing. 

It's owned by Hailey Shafir (LCMHCS, LCAS, CCS)  and Maximilian Shafir (MSW, LCSW), and we both have over a decade of experience in the field of mental health, IDD and substance use treatment.

We are also the developers of the Plan-it-Therapy product line, which is an innovative treatment planning tool for counselors and therapists. In addition, we are the owners of Keep Counsel (a small private practice) and IndyWind (our fun, monetized 'hobby).

Therapy Cred provides online interactive trainings for counselors, social workers, and therapists. Our courses are broken into 'series' that outline broad categories or types of trainings. We created these categories in order to help clinicians find specialized trainings that fulfill the requirements of specific licensure and credentialing bodies. 

All of Therapy Cred's trainings are categorized into one or more of the following series:

• Skills series: these trainings focus on clinical skills that can improve your counseling skills and improve your retention and outcomes
• Specialization series: these trainings focus on specialty areas of practice including specialized treatments, trauma, personality disorders, OCD, and other specialized areas of practice
• Addiction series: these trainings are aimed at helping clinicians gain knowledge and proficiency in identifying, diagnosing and treating addictive disorders, including behavioral addcitions
• Social issues series: these trainings focus on current events and social and cultural issues relevant to the practice of counseling, including smart phone and social media use, dating and relationships diversity and equity
• Ethics series: these trainings are meant to count as ethics hours, and use an ethical lens to view different clinical issues and problems, using ethical codes and guidelines in our field
• Supervision series: these trainings are designed for clinical supervisors or aspiring clinical supervisors, and teach clinicians how to become effective mentors, leaders, and supervisors for newly licensed clinicians, as well as for those in leadership positions that include supervising clinical staff

Therapy Cred is an approved CE provider through the ASWB (approval #1794 valid 4/13/23-4/13/26), and our CE's are recognized by many counseling, psychology, and social work boards in the US. At this time, most of our trainings are live, virtual trainings. Most boards count these hours the same as in-person hours.
